Ingredients for making sequilhos with guava:

 3 cups of cornstarch (cornstarch)

1 cup refined or crystal sugar

 1 egg

 ¾ cup of cold butter

 1 pinch of salt

100 grams of guava in pieces

How to make sequilhos with guava:

Separate the necessary ingredients to prepare the sequilhas, remembering that the butter needs to be cold.

In a bowl add the cornstarch with the sugar, mixing well. Then add the egg, salt and chilled butter.

Mix everything with your hands until the dough starts to come off the fingers.

The mass of sequels will come off the hands and it will be easy to shape a ball with it.

Tip: if necessary, add a little more butter or cornstarch until the dough reaches the correct consistency.

With your hands or with the aid of a spoon, take small portions and shape balls.

Drill a central hole in each ball, then shape it. On a large baking sheet, lined with parchment paper or greased and floured, place the strips with the pieces of guava in the center, with space between them, as shown in the photo.

Tip: preheat the oven to 180 degrees. For this amount, we suggest that you bake the sequilhas on two baking sheets because, depending on the size of each sequilha, the recipe can yield 80 cookies.

Take the strips to bake in a preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they start to lightly brown at the edges. Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly to unmold.

Tip: do not let these cornstarch strips stay in the oven too long so as not to harden too much.

Your guavas with guava are ready for you to enjoy, having a cup of coffee or tea! If you want, store them in a tightly closed jar when they are cold.
